Beverly Ruth (Old) Ritz 89, of Berlin Heights, passed away March 18th at Admiral's Pointe in Huron. Beverly was born in Sandusky December 19, 1929 and briefly lived in Huron before her family moved to Berlin Heights. In 1946 she was crowned the first Berlin Heights Apple Queen. Beverly Ruth (Old) Ritz 89, of Berlin Heights, passed away March 18th at Admiral's Pointe in Huron. Beverly was born in Sandusky December 19, 1929 and briefly lived in Huron before her family moved to Berlin Heights. In 1946 she was crowned the first Berlin Heights Apple Queen. She was a Tigers cheerleader and graduated from Berlin Heights in 1947. She married her high school sweetheart John Ritz on November 1, 1947. John preceded her in death June 15, 1987. In addition to her parents, William and Edna (Swart) Old, she was also predeceased by siblings: Marvin Old, Marjorie (Old) Bretz, Roger Olds, Rhea Old, Ila Fay (Old) Koehler, Bradley Old, Wesley Old, Leah (Old) Sprankel, Rive’ (Old) Butler, William Old, Norma (Old) Unger, Eldred (Bud) Old, and Irvin Old. She is survived by children: Patty (Jim) Wittibslager, Johnny (DeeDee) Ritz, Peggy (Mark) Gebelle, Nancy Ritz; grandchildren: John (Cindy) Ritz, Angela (Mike) Ault, Melissa (Shaemes) Cassidy; great-grandchildren: Micki, Ryan, Cody, Nicholas, Austin, Makaylee, Seairra, Emmalee, Gwendalynn; great-great-grandchildren: Mason, Noah, Connor, Ryder. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Beverly will be missed by all who knew her. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Mel Sayler will be officiating.
