Ruth E. Deehr, 89, of Berlin Heights, died in her home after a lengthy illness Wednesday evening, August 10, 2016 surrounded by beloved family members. She was born on December 16, 1926 in Sandusky and has been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a graduate of Huron High School. Ruth E. Deehr, 89, of Berlin Heights, died in her home after a lengthy illness Wednesday evening, August 10, 2016 surrounded by beloved family members. She was born on December 16, 1926 in Sandusky and has been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a graduate of Huron High School. Ruth was a homemaker and worked for the Berlin-Milan Public Library for 18 years before retiring. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 659 of Berlin Heights for 64 years and was a life member of the Berlin Township Historical Society. During her younger years she enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and collecting antiques and collectible glass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Deehr, her parents Carl and Edna (Justi) Bonnigson and her brother, Henry Bonnigson. Ruth is survived by three sons: William (Connie) Deehr of Berlin Heights, Steven (Kathy) Deehr, of Berlin Heights and Randy (Julie) Deehr of Huron, grandchildren Sara (Joe) Myers, Laura (Paul) Logan, Robert Deehr, Christi Deehr, Cameron Deehr, Valerie Deehr, and Sam Deehr, along with three great granddaughters. She is also survived by two sisters: Doris Rahrig and Irma Moon, along with numerous other nieces, nephews and friend Cal McMullen of New Jersey. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 until the services at 11:00 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 106 Scheid Rd. Sandusky, OH 44870. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Berlin Heights. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 106 E. Scheid Rd.
