Charles S. Ruggles passed away July 22, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a three year valiant attempt to overcome cancer. Charles S. Ruggles passed away July 22, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a three year valiant attempt to overcome cancer. He was born in Lorain Ohio January 3, 1935 to Charles and Willa (Watkins) Ruggles and was a life-long resident of Ruggles Beach in Berlin Township. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and his sister Pat (Ruggles) Wilson. Chuck was a veteran of the US Army, serving at the Berlin Wall. He was employed at Cedar Point for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He was a current member of Gull Harbor Marina in Huron and the Ruggles Beach Association. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Hayes) Ruggles, sons Charles IV (Heather) Ruggles and David (Jessica Jensen) Ruggles; grandsons, Charlie (Grace) Ruggles, Cole Ruggles and Wade Ruggles. There will be a private graveside service at Oak Bluff Cemetery overlooking Lake Erie, which meant so much to Chuck. Arrangements are being handled by the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gull Harbor Marina or the Ruggles Beach Memorial Garden. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Seidman Cancer Center in Sandusky who were of great support over the past three years and the staff at Univ. of Toledo Medical Center who attended him during his final days.
