Phillip L. Born, 67, of Henrietta, passed away on Friday July 29, 2016, at the Willows of Bellevue. He was born on March 4, 1949, in Oberlin to the late Howard and Mary (Adler) Born. He was a 1969 graduate of Firelands High School and worked at the family farm and Born Implement. Phil was a faithful member of the Henrietta United Methodist Church for his whole life. He loved listening to music, attending and showing animals through 4-H and FFA at the Lorain County Fair, and was a devoted Firelands football and basketball fan, tracking all local scores and games. Phil was an avid bowler and competed in three different leagues in Oberlin and Wellington. He loved his family dearly and looked forward to all the special holiday and birthday get-togethers. He is survived by his siblings Donna (David) Drake, FL; Marilyn (Stuart) Closson, AZ; Karen (Asa) Sabiers, Fremont; Howard Jr, of Henrietta; and Linda (Bob) Davidson, Oberlin; nieces and nephews: Barbara (David) Hillis, Laura (Jun Zhang) Drake, Riley (Daphne) Closson, Kelly (Matthew) Smith, Kathy (Doug) Metzger, Jenny (Jason) Sabiers, Jessie Lynn Born, Howard "Butch" (Anne) Born, and Stacy (Christian) Emhoff, 24 great nieces and nephews, and three great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew Ed Born and brother-in-law Stuart Closson. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in South Amherst. Pastor Chuck Livermore will be officiating.
