Diane Mendlik, 72, of Elyria, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on March 22, 2017. She was born on April 13, 1944 in Norwalk and has lived in the Grafton and Elyria area for most of her life. She attended Wellington High School. She was an insurance agent for J.L. Diane Mendlik, 72, of Elyria, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on March 22, 2017. She was born on April 13, 1944 in Norwalk and has lived in the Grafton and Elyria area for most of her life. She attended Wellington High School. She was an insurance agent for J.L. Smith and Associates in Grafton. Diane was a member of the Grafton United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and spending time and making cookies with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of over 30 years Joseph Mendlik, her children, Debra Meininger and fiance Tim, of Elyria, Donna (Jim) Maxwell, of Elyria, Eric (Tara) Frambach, of Grafton, Effie (Chad) Schneider, of San Antonio, TX, Step-children Debbie (Pat) Siek, of NM, Dan Mendlik, of North Ridgeville, and Steve Mendlik, of Brunswick, 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister Sue (Russ) Calkins, of Milan, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Gertrude (Hurst) Walton, a son David Meininger, her twin sister Gail Beal, a brother Lynn "Bear" Walton, and sister Francis Markwood. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Pastor Bob Kuntz will be officiating. I feel so blessed to have known Diane, She was honestly one of the most reliable, hardest worker, always there for you, type of person I have ever known. She has been there for my family more than i can count and the friendship that she shared with my mother is clearly an inspiration to me . Thoughts & Prayers to the Family!!!!
