Robert "Bob" Behnke, 82, of Birmingham, passed away on March 12, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born on January 23, 1936 Elyria, OH to the late Frank and Alta (Reisinger) Behnke and has lived in the Birmingham area for 47 years. He was a graduate of Clearview High School. Robert "Bob" Behnke, 82, of Birmingham, passed away on March 12, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born on January 23, 1936 Elyria, OH to the late Frank and Alta (Reisinger) Behnke and has lived in the Birmingham area for 47 years. He was a graduate of Clearview High School. He went on to enlist in the US Army. He worked at the former Abex Foundry in Elyria for many years. He loved gardening and bonfires. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Sue (Williamson) Behnke, his children Todd Behnke, of Lorain, and Mark (Amy) Behnke, of Birmingham, seven grandchildren, TJ, Jimmy, and Ashley Behnke, Marie (Ben) Bogan, Hannah, Hope, and Sam Caruso, a sister Vilma Gersak, of Elyria, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother Sterling "Shorty" Behnke. Graveside services will be held on Saturday March 17, at 11:00 am at the Birmingham Cemetery.
